About AEON

What We Are

AEON is a digital magazine at the crossroads of the world's esoteric traditions. We publish long-form writing on inner alchemy, divination, contemplative practice, and sacred philosophy - drawn from Chinese, Hermetic, Vedic, Kabbalistic, and other lineages that share a common root in the work of self-transformation.

We write out of intense curiosity and a desire to share what we've found. This is not a journal of record - it's a letter from one seeker to another.

Why AEON Exists

The esoteric traditions have always spoken to one another - the alchemist and the neidan adept, the kabbalist and the yogi, the astrologer and the diviner. But the modern world has siloed these streams behind academic jargon, cultural gatekeeping, and algorithmic noise.

AEON exists to restore the conversation. We believe that wisdom traditions are not relics of the past but living maps for navigating the inner world. Each issue draws from multiple traditions to illuminate a shared truth.

What We Publish

Each issue of AEON is organized around a theme. Articles are long-form and written with care. We publish in English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.

Topics include:

  • Inner Alchemy - Neidan, Hermetic transmutation, tantric practice
  • Divination & Cosmology - The I-Ching, astrology, geomancy, Tarot
  • Contemplative Practice - Meditation, breathwork, embodied awareness
  • Sacred Philosophy - Daoism, Kabbalah, Neoplatonism, Vedanta
  • Culture & History - The people, texts, and movements that shaped the traditions

How We Work

Articles on AEON are produced with AI assistance under close editorial direction. The research questions, source validation, editorial judgment, and final voice are human - the AI is a tool, not the author.

We believe in transparency about this. The traditions we write about value honesty as a prerequisite for any real inquiry, and so do we.

The Name

AEON - from the Greek aiōn, an age, a vast cycle of time. In Gnostic thought, the aeons are emanations of the divine source. The name reflects our conviction that the deepest truths are perennial: they recur across traditions, cultures, and centuries.
